I’d have to read the book first May 29, 2007
because I’m the type that has to read the book before seeing the movie.
Blake Nelson’s Paranoid Park was made into a movie by Gus Van Sant, which won a special prize at Cannes.
Lots of pictures from Cannes on Nelson’s blog.

I suppose it depends or the book. However, how far can you stray from a realistic fiction novel? I find that fantasy or sci-fi books often get distorted in film translation due too many characters or complicated plots. However, I did like Eragon the movie but could not get through the book. In contrast, I didn’t like Memoirs of a Geisha the movie, but I loved the book.
